  • What makes eq telecom different from big wireless companies and kids’ phone brands?

    Great question! At eq, we’re not trying to out-feature the big guys, we’re purposely doing something different.

    1. Affordable Essentials: Compared to major carriers, our plans are designed to be ultra-affordable for essential needs. Think $5–$7/month for Talk & Text, or $10 for a starter data plan. Prices that are hard to find.
    2. Simplicity: Compared to kids' brands, we’re focused on simplicity and trust. Some parents are tired of watches with clunky control apps or paying high prices for monitoring tools their teens. Some that they quickly learn to work around. eq is built for families who want a simpler and still effective way to stay connected.
    3. Gamified Growth Path: But our biggest differentiator? We use a gamified, step-by-step approach. Kids start with just the basics, talk and text, and can gradually earn more features as they show responsibility. Shifting the dynamic from control and sneaking around to open conversations and growing trust as kids are motivated to check in about their phone use to earn extra features. In this way we make it easier for parents to give their children much needed guidance around phone use.

    Furthermore you don't need multiple providers for kids and parents but can have both, affordably, under one roof.

  • How reliable is eq telecom’s network?

    We use the nation’s largest 5G network, so you get dependable coverage for calls, texts, and data almost everywhere.

  • Can I have the whole family on one account?

    Yes! Simplify your life by managing both kids’ and adults’ plans under one account and one bill.

    You can mix Talk & Text plans for children and mindful data plans for adults all together in a family account.

  • Can I transfer (port) my existing phone number?

    Absolutely! Keeping your number is usually simple. During signup or activation, choose the option to transfer your existing number from your previous carrier, and our system will guide you through it.

  • Are there long-term contracts?

    No contracts here. All our plans are month-to-month. You can change or cancel your plan on a monthly basis without penalty. We believe in trust-based parenting and development of safe and gradual digital independence for kids. Which means we give you the flexibility to adjust plans as needed.

  • Do you offer payment plans for phones?

    Yes, we partner with Affirm to offer flexible monthly payments for devices, making phones more accessible. You can select this option during checkout if you want a payment plan for your new phone.
